How do I Data-Log using my VersaTune software?

If you've installed your calibration we may have asked you to collect additional data to improve the accuracy of your tune. This is pretty simple! Don't be intimidated - These are detailed steps, they aren't very involved.

For this log, we'd like you to have your car warmed up to operating temperature and a safe place to perform several wide open throttle (WOT) pulls in at least 2nd gear. If you have those two planned out, proceed with the following steps!

1. Open up your VersaTuner software and click on the "Dashboard" tab.

2. Download and load the appropriate logging profile for your vehicle. The logging profiles can be downloaded at the bottom of this article. Once you import the profile into VersaTune, you'll see it appear at the top of your Dashboard.

NOTICE: If the logging profile doesn't import correctly you can use this list to find exact or similar parameters that are important:

Absolute Load
RPM
Actual Equivalence/Air to Fuel Ratio
Ignition Timing Advance
Knock Retard
Short Term Fuel Trim (primary sensor)
Long term fuel trim
Mass airflow sensor voltage
Engine Coolant Temp

3. You'll start your warmed up car, make sure your OBD cable is connected to the vehicle and your laptop, then click the "Record" button shown here:

4. Drive your car as instructed. We do not want you to take several logs! One continuous log is perfect unless instructed otherwise. When you complete your log (typically 5-10 minutes of driving), click the "Record" button again to STOP recording. Then you can navigate over to the "LOGS" tab shown here:

5. You'll then need to identify your newest log and export it in preparation to share with Fab9. Click the LOAD button once you've found the log you just recorded and then click the "Export to CSV" button shown here:

6. Save that file wherever you feel is convenient to access. Then hop on our log submission/ticketing system found HERE. Upload your log with any relevant notes to help your tuner help you!
